Frequently asked questions

That’s a great question. At HPY, we’re focused on helping you achieve real, lasting benefits that come from consistent practice. Our membership model is built on this belief. It allows our expert instructors to truly get to know you, understand your body’s needs, and guide your progress effectively over time. We’vefound that sporadic visits, like those encouraged by class packs, often don’t lead to the deeper, transformative results we want for you. So, if you’re genuinely ready to invest in your long-term health and wellbeing, and commit to regular movement where you see compounded gains, then HPY is the perfect place for you. If you’re looking for an occasional, casual workout here and there, we might not be the right fit – and that’s okay! We’re here for those serious about their journey.

With the Signature Membership, you get 3 Reformer Pilates classes per week, which you can use at either our Hurstbridge or Diamond Creek studios. Plus, you receive 2 additional classes per week to choose from our Mat Pilates, Yoga, or Barre offerings, all held at our Hurstbridge studio. This combination gives you fantastic variety and the flexibility to tailor your week to your needs!

Absolutely! Our instructors offer modifications for all levels. The variety helps you build a strong foundation in a welcoming environment.

You’ll notice we call out breathing cues constantly – more than you might experience at other studios. There’s a reason for that.

Pilates and yoga were designed as breath-led movement practices. The breath isn’t background noise – it’s the engine that drives everything. When you exhale at the right moment, your deep stabilising muscles fire automatically. When you inhale, you create space and length.
Get the breathing right and the movement follows.

The problem is, most of us have spent years breathing shallowly, holding our breath under effort, or just disconnecting from our bodies entirely. Relearning this takes repetition. A lot of it.

So yes, we cue the breath on almost every movement. It might feel excessive at first, especially if you’ve trained elsewhere. But our goal isn’t to get you through a workout – it’s to retrain your nervous system so that coordinated breathing becomes automatic, in class and
in life.

Once it clicks, you’ll feel the difference: more core control, less tension, better focus, and movements that actually make sense in your body.

We’d rather overcue and have you breathing well than undercue and watch you white-knuckle through an exercise.

No. If a class is on the timetable, it runs. Full stop.

We know how frustrating it is to carve out time for yourself, arrange your schedule around a class, and then get a last-minute cancellation text because not enough people booked. That doesn’t happen here.

Whether there’s one person or a full room, your instructor will be there, ready to go. In fact, a smaller class often means more personalised attention – so it’s a win for you.

This reliability comes down to how we run the business. Our instructors are here to teach, not to hustle for bookings or build their personal brand on social media. We handle the marketing, the scheduling, and filling the classes. They focus on what they’re best at:
helping you move well.

It’s a simple philosophy – you should be able to trust that when you book a class, it’s happening. No asterisks, no “subject to minimum numbers,” no checking your phone an hour beforehand to see if it’s still on.

Book with confidence. We’ll be there.

Your membership starts as soon as you sign up, and your first payment is processed immediately. Your second payment is scheduled for 7 days after the first class you attend. For example, if your first class in December is on the 2nd, your next payment will be due on December 9th, continuing every 7 days thereafter.

Not at all! Our Signature Membership has just a 4-week minimum commitment. After that, you can cancel anytime with the required notice period (as per our T&Cs). If you cancel and return later, this special discounted rate won’t be available.

Our membership approach fosters consistency for compounded benefits. This allows our instructors in small classes to truly know you and guide your form. With no mirrors, the focus is internal – it’s about how the movement feels, supported by our instructors offering hands-on corrections to ensure you get the most out of every exercise. We’re deeply committed to your personal journey and wellbeing, not just a workout.

If you’re unable to attend all of your allotted classes in a week, you can roll over the unused class credit for up to 14 days. For instance, if you’re on the Signature Membership and only attend 2 out of 3 classes one week, you can attend 4 classes the next week.

We will be capping memberships and potentially adjusting the schedule to ensure that every member gets a fair opportunity to attend their preferred classes. Our aim is to accommodate everyone’s needs as much as possible.

There’s no limit to how far in advance you can book classes, provided the schedule is available. Booking in advance is a great benefit, especially for early bird members.

Casual rates are $35 per class for Reformer Pilates and $25 per class for Mat Work and Yoga.

With your Signature membership, you receive a complimentary Studio 2 membership to help you make the most of your week. To get full value—3 Reformer and 2 non-Reformer classes per week—make sure to only use the Studio 2 membership to book non-Reformer classes (like mat Pilates, yoga, or barre).

This keeps your 3 Reformer bookings separate and ensures you don’t miss out on what your membership includes.

Not at all! Our Free Pilates Foundations class is for everyone – new students, existing members, and even experienced Pilates people. It’s a 30-minute session, often very small or one-on-one, with an experienced instructor to revisit Pilates principles, refine technique, and get familiar with the Reformer. We’re amazed how many experienced clients love going back to basics, especially if they’ve plateaued, often remarking they’ve “never been taught that” specific detail before. It’s a fantastic way to deepen your understanding, and it’s totally free!

We understand that plans can change, so we offer a flexible cancellation policy. You can cancel your class up to 12 hours before it starts without any penalty. This allows us enough time to open the spot to other members and ensures fair access to classes for everyone.
