Transform Mind and Body: Discover Yoga’s Power to Reduce Stress, Cultivate Emotional Balance, and Build Enduring Physical Strength

Why Yoga

Yoga, unlike conventional exercises, emphasises harmony between mind and body, creating a holistic wellness journey accessible to everyone.

At Hurstbridge Pilates & Yoga (HPY), our yoga offerings are tailored to cater to a wide audience, starting with the gentle, meditative poses of Yin Yoga. This foundational class is perfect for beginners, promoting relaxation and flexibility. As practitioners develop their skills, they can progress to Slow Flow Yoga, which introduces mindful movements and breath control, and eventually to Strong Flow Yoga for a more dynamic and physically engaging practice.

Our class sizes are kept small, with a maximum of 10-12 people, to ensure personalised attention and a supportive environment. Pre-registration is required to maintain the quality of our sessions and foster a sense of community among participants.

By structuring our classes to accommodate both newcomers and experienced yogis, HPY aims to guide each individual through their yoga journey, enhancing both physical and mental well-being.

Yoga Classes

Yin Yoga

In Yin yoga, poses are held for over 3 minutes to stretch deep tissues, improving flexibility and range of motion. It emphasizes controlled breathing, fostering a profound connection with the body, emotions, and sensations.

Hatha

Hatha Yoga offers a slower, more deliberate practice where poses are held longer to build strength, flexibility, and body awareness. With time to focus on alignment and breath, it's ideal for beginners or anyone wanting a mindful, steady practice without the pace of a flow class.

Vinyasa

Vinyasa Flow is a dynamic, faster-paced practice that links breath to continuous movement. Expect to move, sweat, and build serious strength and stamina as you flow through challenging sequences. This class pushes your edge while keeping you grounded through focused breathwork. A solid foundation in yoga basics is helpful but not essential.

Iyengar

Iyengar Yoga is all about precision. With detailed attention to alignment and the use of props like blocks, straps, and bolsters, each pose is broken down and refined. Poses are held longer to develop strength, stability, and awareness. Ideal for all levels - the props make it accessible while the focus on form keeps even experienced yogis challenged.
