Alongside the Reformer room, Studio 2 at Hurstbridge and Eltham runs a full yoga timetable, Matwork Pilates, Strength and Conditioning, Stretch and Release and Barre. Mats, weights and props. No experience assumed.
Or come once for $25. No membership needed.
Studio 2 is a separate room at Hurstbridge and Eltham. Wooden floor, mats, weights, bolsters, blocks and rollers, running its own timetable alongside the Reformer classes.
If you came here looking for yoga, or a strength class, or somewhere to stretch out properly, you're in the right place. Here's what's on.
No mirrors, no equipment to figure out, and every single person in there was once the new one standing at the door.
Five class types, running every week at Hurstbridge and Eltham. Check the timetable for current times.
A full yoga timetable, not one style on repeat. Vinyasa flow links breath to movement and builds heat. Yin holds poses for three minutes or longer so the stretch reaches deeper connective tissue. Hatha works posture by posture at a measured pace, and Iyengar uses props to get the alignment right. There are beginner classes too, so you can start without knowing any of it.
Floor-based Pilates using your own body weight, with hand weights, resistance bands and balls added as you get stronger. It builds body awareness and core strength, and the instructor can see every one of you from where they're standing.
Proper loaded strength work, taught in a small group with hands-on correction rather than left to you and a YouTube video. Progressive resistance training can help support muscle and bone as you get older. It's also the class most people are surprised we run at all.
Flexibility and mobility work using massage balls and foam rollers, worked through slowly and methodically. It's closer to recovery than to a workout. Runners, riders and people who lift tend to book it, and many of them report they move better the next morning for it.
Ballet-inspired work blended with matwork: light weights, high repetitions, small controlled movements held longer than you'd like. It's the most upbeat thing in the room and your legs will let you know about it afterwards. No dance background required, and nobody's watching your technique except the instructor.
Every membership covers all three studios, so you can book whichever room suits your day.
